Position: Gardener for the 2026 season. This is a full-time seasonal position. Our season runs mid March through early December.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Organic Garden Maintenance: Weeding, deadheading, staking, dividing, edging, and mulching using organic methods to promote healthy, thriving gardens.

  • Plant Health Monitoring: Inspecting plants for pests and diseases, and applying organic solutions when necessary.

  • Pruning: Hand-pruning shrubs and small trees to encourage healthy growth and maintain structure.

  • Seasonal Installations: Designing and planting seasonal containers with organic materials and plants.

  • Planting: Installing perennials, shrubs, and trees, with a focus on organic and sustainable gardening practices.

  • Time Tracking: Keeping accurate records of your time using your smartphone.

Facilities & Field Support Technician

Facilities & Field Support Technician – Landscaping Operations

We are a fine gardening and landscape design company seeking a reliable, skilled Facilities & Field Support Technician to keep our crews productive, our equipment running, and our job sites supplied. This is a hands-on role that combines logistics, technical work, and field support across our maintenance and planting teams.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works independently, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes and in the field.

Primary Responsibilities

Logistics & Materials

  • Manage yard debris and material flow, including emptying trucks daily

  • Deliver plants, mulch, soil, and hardscape materials to job sites

  • Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently

  • Track inventory and coordinate ordering of landscape and irrigation supplies

Facilities & Yard Operations

  • Maintain organization of yard, materials, and storage areas

  • Coordinate equipment staging for daily crew needs

Field Work & Crew Support

  • Provide hands-on field support to maintenance and planting crews

  • Perform mulching, debris removal, and job site clean-ups as needed

  • Assist with pruning work as needed (experience strongly preferred)

Irrigation & Repairs

  • Perform simple irrigation installation, troubleshooting and repairs (temporary irrigation, broken lines, heads, valves, controllers, etc.)

  • Assist with seasonal system start-ups and shutdowns

Plant Health Treatments

  • Safely and effectively apply pesticides and other treatments as needed in accordance with IPM best practices and all state and federal regulations

  • Maintain application records and follow all safety and environmental protocols

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, tire checks, minor repairs)

  • Coordinate service and repairs when outside work is needed

Required Qualifications

  • Previous professional landscaping or horticulture experience is required

  • Valid DOT Medical Card (DOT Card)
    (We will reimburse the cost after successful completion of your probationary period)

  • Current Pesticide Applicator License
    (We will pay for all future renewals while you are employed)

  • Irrigation experience

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather

  • Comfortable driving trucks, trailers, and operating landscape equipment

Strongly Preferred

  • Pruning experience

  • Mechanical aptitude

Crew Lead

Alden Laurel is hiring an additional Crew leader for the 2026 season.

This is a full-time seasonal position. Our season runs mid March through early December.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crew Lead to join our Fine Gardening division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine gardening, along with excellent leadership and organizational skills. As the Crew Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing a crew of skilled gardeners. This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of gardeners in performing landscape maintenance and installation tasks.

  • Ensure work is done to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Train team members on proper techniques, tools, and safety procedures.

  • Perform hands-on gardening tasks including pruning, weeding, mulching, raking, and general maintenance.

  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (e.g., blowers, hedge trimmers, mowers).

  • Keep job sites, company vehicles, and tools organized and well-maintained.

  • Maintain a positive and productive team atmosphere while working on-site.

  • Communicate with the Operations Manager to report project status and any challenges.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in landscaping, gardening, or related fields.

  • Experience leading or supervising a small team on job sites.

  • Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques and organic gardening practices.

  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Container planting experience is a plus.
